

Camp Cooley® Genetics Top Red Bluff Sale

Camp Cooley Ranch®, headquartered in Franklin, Texas saw their Brangus and Charolais consignments to the 65th Annual Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale win the high grading honors and top the sale in their respective breeds.
The Red Bluff Sale is recognized as one of the strongest sales in thecountry and draws the interest and attendance of commercial and seedstock producers across the West and Mexico. A standing room only crowd watched as the bulls were graded by a panel of three producers and a consulting veterinarian and then sold the following day.
Cooley Crook 7118 116P2, "George", was the Champion Halter Charolais
bull, high grading and tied for high selling Charolais Bull at $7200. The September 2004 son of Hoodoo Crook 7118 had a birth
weight of 94 pounds and as a yearling tipped the scales at 1,088 lbs. This moderate,
straight bred Hoodoo bull posted a 13.8 in rib eye measure at yearling. He
sold to Stewart Family Ranch and Greg Sanders both of Franklin, Texas.
The high selling and Champion Halter Brangus bull was Brinks Blackhawk 99P73, a October 2004 son of Blackhawk of Brinks 607M12. This bull's data included a 62 pound birth weight, 578 pounds weaning weight and 1,118 pound yearling weight. He sold for $6,500 to Sagehorn Cattle Co., Bakersfield, California. 
Brinks Bright Side 209P29, a October 2004 son of Brinks Bright Side
607l11 sold for $5,000 to Matt Syler, Burton, Texas, while Brinks Nimitz 204P29, a September 04 son of Nimitz of Brinks went to Nevada based, Eden Valley Ranches, for $3,200. Overall in the sale 25 Brangus bulls averaged $2,738.
Camp Cooley® Charolais genetics also went to Mexico as Enrique Medina paid $4,000, an October 2004 son of Pleasant Dawn Monte. Overall 46 Charolais bulls averaged $3,324.
Cooley Jackpot 5036P, a Charolais bull, was donated by Camp Cooley Ranch® to the Water For Life fundraiser. This bull generated $15,200 for thenon-profit organization, which promotes water rights and conservation for agricultural use and holds a fundraiser at the Red Bluff event annually.
In addition to Camp Cooley Ranch® consignments, Wyman Creek Ranch,
Oroville, CA, a Camp Cooley customer participated in the event and took home the Reserve Champion
Brangus Halter Bull and Champion and Reserve Range Ready Brangus bull
honors.
