Camp Cooley Ranch® Provides Assistance For Hurricane Victims

For Immediate Release

Franklin, TX - Camp Cooley Ranch®, Franklin, Texas, recently provided assistance to victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The ranch donated 600 bales of hay and the transportation costs to ranchers in South Louisiana.

In addition Camp Cooley, who has an allied industry partnership with Purina®, worked together to provide feed. The two operations donated range cubes to feed stores as Purina matched the dealer’s donation, which was paid for by Camp Cooley. Feed was provided to Vinton Feed, Vinton, Louisiana, Thibodeaux Feeds, Abbeville, G&H Seed Co., In in Crowley and Geuydan, Louisiana.

The ranch also donated the use of their aluminum trailer to hold and haul supplies to Katrina victims. The trailer was placed in nearby Franklin and residents of Robertson County brought items and filled the trailer through efforts coordinated by the county extension office.

In addition, the ranch made a $5,000 contribution to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association relief fund.

“Many of our customers have been greatly affected by these two hurricanes and we wanted to provide some tangible forms of encouragement to ranchers in these hard hit areas. Many have lost their home, their barns and their pastures have been damaged by saltwater and many have lost substantial numbers of cattle, “ said Mark Cowan, president.
