Camp Cooley Ranch® To Host Cattlemen's Choice Field Day

Franklin, TX - Cattle producers are invited to attend the Cattleman's Choice Field Day, Friday, September 9th, at Camp Cooley Ranch®, Franklin, Texas. The event, hosted by Camp Cooley and their allied industry partners, AgriLand Farm Credit, Fort Dodge Animal Health and Purina Mills, will focus on  topics key to profitability.

The day's program will being with registration from 9-10 a.m., followed by sessions on cowherd and calfhood vaccination protocols, basic tools and visual appraisal skills for bull selection, developing bulls and heifers as well as cowherd nutrition.

Speakers will include Dr. Chance Farmer and Lee Dickerson from Purina; Dr. Mac Devin from Fort Dodge Animal Health and Camp Cooley Ranch® personnel.

Following lunch, there will be a preview of bulls selling in the upcoming Camp Cooley Ranch® Bull Sale in November. Then the cattlemen in attendance will  visually appraise, and analyze performance, ultrasound, gain test, and EPD data  The selections will be tabulated and a Cattleman's Choice lineup will be announced.

The day's structured program will conclude at 3 p.m., and tours of the ranch will follow.

In addition there will be a drawing for Camp Cooley Bull Bucks. This is a $500 credit towards a purchase of a bull in the upcoming bull sale. One cattleman will have their name drawn at this event.
