Camp Cooley Ranch® Inaugural Charolais Sale Results

Franklin, TX - In Camp Cooley Ranch®'s Inaugural Charolais Sale the proven, performance oriented genetics led the way to one of the breed's most exciting sales this year. Buyers registered from thirteen states and were treated to the famous Camp Cooley hospitality.

Camp Cooley Ranch® has steadily become known as a breed leader for Charolais herd sires and commercial oriented range sires. This sale was an opportunity for breeders across the country to purchase some of the most progeny proven females that boast breed leading EPD's. The females sold with complete performance and ultrasound records.

The top selling registered lots were:

Lot 1 - Two thirds interest and full possession in proven herd sire, WCR Prime Time 908, sold to Mitchell Cox in Campbellsville, KY for $11,500.

Lot 33 – The second high selling lot sold for $8,050. The fall bred cow, Ms CCR Tradit 5036H3P ET sold to Gilbert Link, Center, TX for $6,750. Her December born bull calf sold to Janis Poor, Kemp, TX for $1,300.

Lot 5 – Proven donor, Ms CCR W Wind1410G, the dam of CCR Jackpot 1410K5, sold for $7,250 to Camp Cooley Cooperator Bar S Ranch, Paradise, KS.

Lot 68 – WCR Miss Tradition 0017 ET P and her October heifer calf were the fourth high lot. She sold to Gilbert Link for $5,000. The heifer calf sold to C.T. Jones, Livingston, TX for $1,300.

Lot 32 – A full sib to Lot 33, Ms CCR Tradit 5036H2 P ET sold to Gilbert Link for $6,250.

Lot 2B – The choice of four HooDoo bred heifer calves sold to K&P Cattle Company, Hartwell, GA for $6,000 to be the sixth high selling lot.

Lot 72 – The high selling spring pair was KLC Dawn 8046 Pld and her February RC Charlie 0327 sired calf. The pair sold to Gary Ibach, Ansley, NE for $3,600.

An exciting addition to the sale was ten Charolais x Red Angus cross fall heifer calves. The high selling female, Lot 100, sold to Charles and Cathy Schroeder, Taylor, TX for $2500.

Larry Lehman and Bradley Bracewell, contending bidders on Lot 1, WCR Prime Time 908.

Gilbert Link purchased several of the top end female lots.

Kenny and Pam York, of K&P Cattle Co., Hartwell, GA purchased several lots including the HooDoo heifer choice lot.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Gilbert were volume buyers.
