Franklin, TX - In a record-breaking event, Camp Cooley Ranch® hosted over 1,000 visitors and 600 registered buyers from 21 states and three countries. In typical Camp Cooley fashion, guests were treated to superior genetics and unmatched hospitality. Klaus Birkel and his staff continue to lead the industry in with a progressive mindset, unparalleled customer service, and performance backed cattle.
On Friday, November 19 the excitement kicked off with a 116 head female sale that averaged $5,105. Lot 812, Miss Brinks Cadence 468G15, sold for $20,000 to Jerry and Terri Ligon of Lazy L Cattle Company. This phenomenal donor was the dam of the Lot 1 bull who led Saturday's bull offering. A proven herdsire, Lot 724, CEO of Brinks 99J44 was the second high selling lot at $17,500. He sold to repeat buyer Gary Amos of Oak Grove Brangus. Through out the female and bull sale, 38 CEO progeny commanded top dollars averaging over $4,607.
New Brangus breeders purchased the third and fourth high selling female lots. The third high selling lot was Miss Brinks Vaquero 415G, another proven donor who sold to Nick Gandy at $16,000. Lot 807, Miss Brinks Vaquero 415G4, a full sister to Lot 806 sold for $12,500 to Michael Weathers.
On Saturday, November 20 at an incredible pace, buyers purchased Brangus, Angus and Charolais bulls. Bulls sold in catalog order and were appraised by buyers both on the seats and through Superior Livestock Productions.
The lead off bull, Lot 1, Lombardi of Brinks 468N10 sold for $34,000 for half interest and possession to John Bevans of PLB Cattle Co. This Bright Side son was a son of the high selling female on Friday evening and is sure to command attention from registered and commercial breeders alike. The second high selling Brangus bull was Ditka of Brinks 535N37, Lot 188. One half interest and possession in this Sonar son sold to 8G Brangus for $25,000. Lot 4, Royal of Brinks 75N2, reached the $24,500 mark to sell to Salacoa Valley Farm.
In a power packed Angus offering, Lot 425, Cooley Stengal 1128N3, commanded $11,000 from Sullivan Farms. This Bon View New Design 1407 son presented outstanding growth and carcass performance. Lot 526, Cooley LaSorda 3122, was the second high selling Angus bull. He sold for $10,000 to Brad Mills of Walking M Ranch.
A spring coming 2 year old topped the Charolais bulls at $6,800. Lot 616, Cooley Crum 1107N27, a Jackpot son, sold to Kerry Reed on Superior Video. Lot 653, Cooley Sutton 3574, was the second high seller at $6,250. The third high selling Charolais bull went to Donald Bumpers of Bumpers' Ranch at $6,000. This was Lot 617, a full brother to Jackpot.
