

Belles of the South Brangus Females in High Demand
Franklin, TX - The Belles of the South Brangus females were in high demand Saturday, September 8 at the dispersal offering of the Camp Cooley Ranch - Alabama females. The sale featured show heifer prospects, bred heifers, and fall and spring bred cows and pairs.
Lot 110, Ms Brinks Lead Gun 535R31 and her Singletary bull calf at side, were the high-selling spring-bred pair at $21,000. Santa Rosa Ranch, a new Brangus breeder from Navasota, Texas, purchased this maternal sister to Rowdy and Ditka for $19,000. The Singletary bull calf, a true herd sire prospect, went to Todd Garrett of Maypearl, Texas for $3,000.
Brushy Creek Brangus, Normangee, Texas, purchased Lot 194, Ms Brinks Blackhawk 68S, a show heifer prospect, for $10,500. Blackhawk daughters were consistently in demand.
Lot 230, Ms HD Bright Side 263L, was purchased by Chimney Rock Cattle Company, Concord, Arkansas , for $12,000. Chimney Rock has built a strong foundation with their Camp Cooley Ranch purchases. This fall bred cow ratioed 109 on her Fall '05 and '06 calves exhibiting true maternal power.
Charlie Israel, Birmingham, Alabama, purchased Lot 413, Ms Brinks CEO 803R19, for $12,500. This outstanding spring-bred heifer is a full sister to Cochran of Brinks who sold in the spring bull sale.
The spring-bred cows averaged $1,546.67 on 45 lots. Eighty-eight lots of spring-bred pairs averaged $3,275.57. Spring-bred heifers averaged $2,275.00 on 80 lots. Eight exposed pairs averaged $1,956.25. Fall-bred cows averaged $2,081.14 on 114 lots. Forty fall-bred heifers averaged 42,533.75. Yearling heifers averaged $2,861.11 on 36 lots. The sale averaged $2,418.60 on 414 lots. The Belles of the South Sale grossed $1,001,300.
